What is the ridge of a metal roof?
The ridge closes the intersection between two roof slopes, straight- or angle-mounted. For BELPROFILE metal roof tiles it is the ribbed ridge, with an end cap pre-drilled for ventilation; for click roofing sheets, the straight ridge.
What is a roof valley and where is it installed?
The valley is installed at the junction of two roof slopes and carries away the water that gathers there. The side abutment flashing is installed at the junction between a wall and a roof slope.
What is the fascia and what covers it?
The fascia is the board that closes the edge of the roof. The fascia cover profile covers and seals the fascia areas left exposed when the roof covering is installed.
When are snow guards needed?
The snow barrier is used on steeply pitched roofs, to keep the snow from falling off the roof, and is installed in staggered, overlapping rows over the whole slope. The snow guard is used on low-pitched roofs and is installed in a triangular pattern, to break up the sliding snow gradually. On click roofing sheets the snow guards are mounted on the seams, without piercing the panels.
What is the anti-condensation membrane for?
The anti-condensation membrane protects the roof against water ingress and condensation and, because it lets vapour through, keeps the whole roof dry.
What is an eaves flashing?
The eaves flashing is installed on the timber board that supports the gutters, after they are fitted and before the anti-condensation membrane, with a 5 cm overlap onto the gutter.
