Gutter Systems: questions and answers
What is a gutter system?
A gutter system collects the rainwater from the roof and carries it away from the walls of the house. It is made of gutters, which collect the water at the eaves, downpipes, which bring it down, and the parts that join and hold them: brackets, corners, outlets, elbows and clamps.
What size are BELPROFILE gutters and downpipes?
There are two systems: 125/90, with a gutter of 125 mm inner diameter, and 150/90, with a gutter of 150 mm. In both, the downpipe is 90 mm in diameter.
Gutter system 125/90 or 150/90?
The 125/90 system is for small and medium roofs. The 150/90 system is for any roof, whatever its size, and has corners with gaskets and special fixings.
What are the gutters and downpipes made of, and in which colours?
Galvanised steel with multilayer protection: zinc coating, primer and finishing layer. The RainDrop finish comes in RAL colours that match the metal roof tiles and the click roofing sheets; the MagneZinc finish is unpainted. The 150/90 system also comes in the PrinTech finish: Weathered, Korten and HairLine Copper.
How many downpipes does a roof need?
One downpipe every 10 metres of gutter. One downpipe drains at most approximately 70 m² of roof with the 125/90 system and approximately 120 m² with the 150/90 system.
What slope should a gutter have?
The gutter is installed with a drainage slope of 5 mm per metre, towards the downpipe.
What does a complete gutter system include?
Gutter and gutter end cap, brackets, inner and outer corners, clamps, gutter outlet, elbow, downpipe, Y-branch and downpipe shoe.
What warranty does the BELPROFILE gutter system have?
BELPROFILE gutter systems have a 20-year warranty.
How much do gutters and downpipes cost?
The price depends on the system, the finish and the length of the eaves and of the downpipes. Ask for a quote with the dimensions of your roof and you receive the price for the whole system.
